Are Facebook doing enough, even thought it is "FREE"?
As many of you know Meta and its subsidiaries Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp & Onavo was taken down by an “Update”. Was this 100% true? The globally used sites were down for around to six hours earlier this year. The BBC reported that the outage has cost Facebook more than $6bn (£4.4bn), with its shares dropping nearly 5%.
What many of you don’t know is that our Facebook accounts have been hacked and we now run a semi-successful shoe cleaning service. This is clearly is not what we do as we have spent years building our trusted brand and helping those within the community. We will be making a new Facebook page in the future, however our LinkedIn and Twitter pages are still active and run by the firm.
However Facebook has been a victim of online attacks on user profiles with around 160,000 profiles being attacked/ hacked each day. This is nothing new and Facebook are aware of these numbers but yet don’t have a team that deal with these matters. There is no live chat or number you can call to get support with matter like this. You could try and contact there head office 10 Brock Street, London, NW1 3FG in the United Kingdom or there Ireland offices at 25 The Waterfront, 5-7 Hanover Quay, Dublin 2. However if you are expecting a response don’t hold your breath. As they don’t respond and wont respond.
We have to count ourselves lucky as we was planning to do advertising via Facebook and Instagram however they would need to add a credit card to your account. Now I can only imagine the damage that could have been done if we had added any details to the firms’ accounts. We have lost our faith in these forms of working and want to ensure that we know where we are spending our limited adverting budget.
I would think that such a big company would have more precautions in place to ensure that their customers are protected. If you are contacted by anyone at Wainwright and Cummins LLP via Facebook or any of our social media please do not interact with them as we only operate via direct email, letter or telephone call. If you do interact with someone please insure you do not pass on any personal information or banking details, as we will not request them online.

Also if you do give anyone within the firm any details they will only be used for your case. We recommend that you pay via bank transfer or visit us and pay via Debit/ Credit card.
